Cheap and Easy Homemade Hummus

This homemade hummus is so easy and so delicious. At a fraction of the cost if you bought it from the store pre-made, it’s so worth the ten minutes to make fresh. The thing I love most about making things homemade is that you can alter the ingredients to make it exactly how your family likes it.

Ingredients

  • Garbanzo beans (chick peas)
  • Lemon juice (I prefer fresh squeezed but store bought works too)
  • Salt
  • Tahini
  • Garlic (fresh garlic will take to the next level, but I often use powder and it’s delicious too)
  • Olive oil

Instructions

  1. Open can of garbanzo beans and rinse and drain in a strainer
  2. Add rinsed beans to a food processor or blender
  3. Add lemon juice, salt, tahini, and garlic and blend until smooth
  4. Add olive oil until it is the consistency you like. I like to add the oil as it’s blending.
