Homemade Pumpkin Pie Latte

My absolute favorite fall drink is a pumpkin pie latte. It’s a thing so I know I’m not the only one out there! The only problem is as delicious as they are, they often come with a ton of harmful chemicals, dyes, and other yuck ingredients that I’m trying to stay away from. The other problem (so I guess there’s a couple ;), is it’s SO EXPENSIVE to go buy a pumpkin pie latte. I still go do it and I’m happy to support my local coffee shops (VERY happy actually… maybe a little too happy…), but sometimes it’s just not in my budget for the week.

Making a pumpkin pie latte at home can save you so much money and have much healthier ingredients.

Ingredients
Prepared Coffee or Espresso. I do not have an espresso machine (saving up though!!), so I just brew a cup of regular coffee. Try a polyphenol dense organic coffee (like this one) or espresso to give your latte an extra hit of nutrition.
Cream. Raw cream would give the most nutrients. I use my homemade half and half. For a dairy free version try using coconut milk or almond milk.
Pumpkin puree.
Pure maple syrup.
Vanilla.
Optional: pumpkin pie spice to give it an extra kick.
Top with a little cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice.
If you want to get crazy, top it off with some yummy homemade whipped cream… yummmmm….
Instructions
- Brew coffee or espresso.
- Add prepared coffee or espresso, cream (or non dairy substitute), pumpkin puree, and maple syrup to a medium sauce pan and heat until just about to boil. Whisk to make sure ingredients mix well.
- Remove from heat and add vanilla.
- Using an immersion blender, blend mixture to desired amount of froth.
- Carefully pour into your favorite mug, sprinkle with cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice and enjoy :).
